25I-NBOH acts as a potent agonist for the 5HT receptor, with a Ki of 0.061 nM at the human 5HT receptor, similar to the better-known compound 25I-NBOMe, making it some twelve times the potency of 2C-I itself.
The toxicity and long-term health effects of recreational 25I-NBOH use do not seem to have been studied in any scientific context and the exact toxic dosage is unknown.
